Peter Ferrio had experience in the dot-com world including some start-ups.  When he decided to seek more success as an entrepreneur, he used his information technology (IT) support skills to develop a customer base that became his business foundation. 

At the suggestion of a neighbor, he came to SCORE for advice.  My counselors said I had a great idea.  They asked me a lot of questions such as who is your market and why are you charging so little for your services.

I've been coming to SCORE for four years and I've doubled my revenue every year. Everything they advised me to do was business textbook 101. It's been amazing to me that they would commit their time to me and offer personal guidance.  

Peter attends SCORE events to talk about his experience and makes presentations on how SCORE helped him succeed.  I couldn't have gotten this business horse-sense without my counselors many years of experience.

Entrepreneur Grows Her Sales and Finds Success with SCORE

Stephanie Mann had a lifelong passion for interior design.  She started her own business providing services to residential and commercial clients including three churches, but  she wasn't sure how to grow, get more clients, increase sales and maximize profits. 

She contacted SCORE and attended a Business Plan workshop.  I thought the information was very valuable and I took home materials from the session to help put together my business plan.  My SCORE counselor taught me how to negotiate and how to improve my marketing and advertising.

My client base has grown from three to twenty-five and sales and profits have increased exponentially.  She has been a client for four years and continues to come in for mentoring sessions.  Just having someone to talk to about my business helps me push myself to the next business area that I need to work on.
